The effectiveness of a production (whether it be a short film or blockbuster) Is very much crucial to the success of the project. The crew/personnel behind the production are collectively responsible to how well the project does.
-          Well crewed productions are successful when completing deadlines, make sure all footage is secured, and keep to the budget

-          If a production is poorly crewed, it will fail to stick to deadlines, fail to secure footage and go over the set budget
Big budget
-          On a high budget production the crew roles will be filled by professional people who are knowingly successful at their job  
-          A make up artist who works on big budget productions will usually only ever work in that particular role.
Medium budget
-          On a medium budget film the crew will still be filled by professionals who are good at their job, however the level of successfulness could be scaled down from the big budget films.
Low budget
-          On a low budget production, the crew will have varies level of professionalness and successfulness
Micro budget
-          On a micro budget production, the production crew would usually have to take on 3 or possibly more jobs,
-          The crew behind micro budget films would possibly be amateurs and not likely to be professionals
-          For tis reason, crew for micro budget films will not be hired based of skills, experience, or professionalness
Producers hiring a team will:
-          Firstly, try to re-employ previously hired crew, whose artistic and technical skills have already been put to the test and who have shown shoot time management and team building skills on previous productions
-          Secondly, focus on recommendations and proven ability (in the form of awards and critical acclaim)
-          Thirdly, rely on recruitment agencies, production databases and CV’s

The casting is a very important part of the overall process as you can’t have a film without a story and you can’t a have a story without characters. There are may different types of characters to be cast.
