Availability Of Personnel

Personnel Technical Actors Extras The effectiveness of a production (whether it be a short film or blockbuster) Is very much crucial to the success of the project. The crew/personnel behind the production are collectively responsible to how well the project does. -           Well crewed productions are successful when completing deadlines, make sure all footage is secured, and keep to the budget -           If a production is poorly crewed, it will fail to stick to deadlines, fail to secure footage and go over the set budget Big budget -           On a high budget production the crew roles will be filled by professional people who are knowingly successful at their job   -           A make up artist who works on big budget productions will usually only ever work in that particular r...

A1 Logistics: Deadlines

Image
A1 Logistics On Film Production Types of production: -       Time -       Facilities -       Locations -       Personnel -       Materials Time: -        Deadlines -        Availability of equipment -        Availability of personnel -        Timescales Deadlines: Deadlines are one of the most important parts of the pre-production process. When establishing a deadline it allows everyone working on that specific project whether they’re apart of the crew, cast or a producer/director an overall basis for different schedules. A deadline is important so it can keep an organised log of the pace a certain project should be going. If failure to reach a deadline should occur it could possibly put the whole project at risk. Henc...

A1 Logistics: Availability Of Equipment

Availability Of Equipment   When buying or hiring equipment It is crucial to pick the right equipment as it can affect the entire filming of your production and for your budget in general, it can take an unnecessary and detrimental chunk out of your budget, and if the budget was initially small to begin with it can be even more of a problem. Not only will it hurt the budget but it will also harm the overall filming of the production as well. For example, if a camera fails to start working it would therefore mean that the crew is incapable of filming, slowing down the movement of the process, this would link to why deadlines are important, as failure to complete something on time has a domino effect within the process and the loss of equipment could therefore ruin the following tasks that follow. Another issue you need to consider with availability of equipment is the budgeting. For example, when filming a high budget project the company/crew/people behind it may choose to...

Importance Of Casting

Importance Of Casting One of the first steps of the pre-production process is the casting. The casting is a very important part of the overall process as you can’t have a film without a story and you can’t a have a story without characters. There are may different types of characters to be cast. For example the more subtle roles such as background actors don’t necessarily need to be ‘cast’ In fact, background actors are usually volunteers, and not paid for their role. Although they may not be deemed as important roles, they are however very necessary throughout a feature film. For example, if a scene was to be shot in the middle of London, which is the busiest city in the country. It would look unrealistic witch just the leading actors being apart of it. Therefore background actors are a vital part of making certain scenes look real and authentic. Supporting and lead actors however are roles that need to be cast. There will be casting directors that watch potential actors audition t...
A1 Finance: Sources Of Finance Public Sector VS Private sector The private sector is made up of businesses or corporations that are owned by people independently. This can include such things like, local small restaurants, shopping centres or small businesses. To make a profit as a business in the private sector the must offer desirable products or services, or products and services that are vital to us. There is a lot of competition within the private sector. Hence why when businesses compete for the same profit, prices go down. For example, if two shops such as foot locker and foot asylum are selling the same product, such as a popular trainer. One store won’t be able to sell it for double the price as the other store as they won’t make any profit, therefore prices go up and down in competition for the most sales. Businesses in the private sector are aware that if they offer poor, not up to standard service they will not make any profit and theref...
The Pre-Product Process of a Short Film & A Feature Film Short Film- A short film is a piece of production not long enough to be considered a feature film. The average time of a short film estimates from anything 40 minutes or less. Feature Film- A feature film is a full-length motion picture with a running time averaging from 96 to 120 minutes long. A feature film is the type of production that is most likely to be seen within cinemas and be released on DVD and major streaming websites. Short Film Feature Film Lower Budget- As a 10-40 minute video is not a long time. The money for Crew and equipment will have to be restricted. Also, money for costume, actors and lighting will be much less as they don’t require as much as feature films will. Actors will demand a lot less money for performing in a short film, as short films don’t usually have famous celebrity’s performing in them . Higher Budget- Because of the length of ...
